Reinstatement

1. Reinstatement in accordance with section 35(2) of the Act

A registered geologist or a registered practitioner whose name has been removed from the Register for failure to renew his registration for a period of not more than three years shall be reinstated as soon as he has notified the Registrar of his desire to be reinstated and on payment of the prescribed fee.

An application for reinstatement under section 35(2) must be submitted to the Board that shall consist of:

  • Application form, Form G (#link) along with :-
    • Proof of payment for reinstatement fee;
    • CPD record; and
    • Other information as may be required by the Board.

Only complete application with all the supporting documentation will be processed.

2. Reinstatement in accordance with section 35(3) of the Act

A registered geologist or a registered practitioner who fails to renew his registration for a period of more than three years consecutively may be reinstated if the Board is satisfied with the reasons for reinstatement and on payment of the prescribed fee.

An application for reinstatement under section 35(3) must be submitted to the Board that shall consist of:

  • Application form, Form H (#link) along with :-
    • Proof of payment for processing fee, RM50.00;
    • A letter explaining the reasons of failure to renewregistration more than 3 years; and
    • Other information as may be required by the Board.

Only complete application with all the supporting documentation will be processed.

3. Reinstatement in accordance with section 35(4) of the Act

A registered geologist or a registered practitioner whose name has been removed from the Register pursuant to an order of the Board under paragraph 33(2)(d) and who has not appealed against that order or whose appeal has been dismissed or withdrawn may apply for reinstatement after the expiration of not less than six months from the date of the order of revocation, or from the date of the decision of the appeal or from the date the appeal was withdrawn, whichever date is the later.

An application for reinstatement under section 35(4) must be submitted to the Board that shall consist of:

  • Application form, Form I (#link) along with :-
    • Proof of payment for processing fee, RM50.00;
    • A letter explaining the reasons for his/her desire to be reinstated; and
    • Other information as may be required by the Board.

Only complete application with all the supporting documentation will be processed.
